An adapted, accessible, and functional kitchen

Interior design focused on well-being for seniors and people with reduced mobility.

In Quebec, population aging has begun. In 2016, out of 7 million Quebecers, there were 1.5 million seniors aged over 65, representing 18% of the population. By 2021, this figure will rise to 20%. That is a fact. It seems important to me to be able to support this evolution by putting design at the service of well-being, in order to make everyday life easier for everyone.

To ensure that everyone can maintain as much independence as possible, we design kitchens and adapted spaces by optimizing ergonomics, comfort, and safety for individuals with reduced mobility or seniors.

During the renovation of your kitchen, a well-thought-out design costs no more no more expensive than bad design. In the long run, the latter is even more expensive, because the ergonomic elements have to be adapted all over again.

One cuisine must be designed with accessibility and safety in mind, with the aim of limiting user movement and effort, and preventing or avoiding falls and accidents.

Cooking is a truly pleasurable moment. To keep it that way, you need to arrange and configure the work areas logically (provisions, storage, washing, cooking areas...).

Various means exist that provide different levels of comfort of use, for example adjusting the gripping height by positioning electrical appliances in easily accessible areas.

In other cases, it is possible to install variable-height kitchen countertops and upper cabinets. The sink, faucets, and oven can also be adapted to make them as easy to use as possible.

The planning of the different activity areas in the kitchen aims to avoid unnecessary movements and streamline traffic flow.

For everyday objects, there is the concept of "design for all". This design philosophy aims to create objects that are aesthetic and usable by everyone, regardless of age, ability, or status.

For an adapted kitchen renovation, you should expect a budget ranging from 25,000 to 50,000 $CA, however, a significant number of financial aids exist, and we can assist you with filling out the applications for them:
